A Study in Faces, or: Why Katie Doesn't Take Good Pictures (January 2011)

From January 10, 2011

While sorting through 2010 photos so she can clean up her computer, Katie has discovered numerous photos of her that never turned out very well.  You may be wondering why she can't seem to take a decent photo, and she has found the answer.

She is always in motion.  Basically, when she is comfortable around someone, her face never shuts up.

To prove her case, here are a set of photos taken all on the same day: August 27, 2010, on a trip to Oak Harbor, WA for a family reunion.  The pictures were taken with different groups of people at different times during the day.

Now, watch the face.  It never stops moving:

In the morning

In the afternoon

In the evening
Katie is thinking it is time to give up being the target of so much paparazzi during her career as family jester... She hasn't taken a decent photograph in her entire life.  This is not a shock to her or to anybody else for that matter.  It is why she prefers to be out of camera range in general.  She does, however, take great pictures when there is no film in the camera, or the digital camera battery is dead.
